Bibi at Lava Beds National Monument

The Westy is a discontinued Volkswagen Vanagon that was made from 1980 to early 90’s. I’m not going to get into the vehicle too deeply since my knowledge of the vehicle and its history is limited. There are many web sites you can visit to learn more about the Vanagon Westfalia

Bibi (named after my wife’s granddaughter) is a 1991 model originally imported to Canada. It’s now in my hands located in Northern Calif. Our Westy has a 2.1 rebuilt waterboxer engine and as of this writing about 2000 miles on it. The van itself has around 170,000 miles on it. It runs great and has given me no trouble at all. Then again, to quote another Westfalia owner, “what the Westy wants the Westy gets”. After I purchased the van I immediately had it inspected by a master Volkswagen mechanic and spent a few thousand more dollars to bring it up to date. I take care of this vehicle, its worth it.
